LABRADORS

My first ever dog as a child was a black Lab 'Daniel' he was a great dog, i waited and pestered my parents long and hard to get my first dog and he was the start of my love for dogs!
Roger also had a black Lab 'Shadow' and the 2 boys got on fabulously when we got married. We had them for many years until sadly old age took hold and they both passed away.

We then had a few years concentrating on the other dogs, at the time we also had started in Bedlingtons, and had Lurchers and Coursing Greyhounds. but eventually i couldn't be without a Lab about the place so the hunt was on to find a black girl to join the home who maybe i could take along to a few shows with the Bedlingtons. After a lot of searching Penny Carpanini put me in touch with Ed & Mandy Morley who had a litter. On a trip up to Scotland for a holiday in May 2003 we called in to see the litter and were very happy with what we saw and Ed & Mandy were happy to agree to us having a pup. So on the way home a week later we called in and chose Country who came home with us.

After a long time of consideration we decided to have a litter of pups from Country she is such a nice well constructed girl with an exemplary temperament. I studied many photos in books and watched the dogs in the show ring, I also went on to the internet looking for the right stud dog, Country's pedigree was a total outcross so I really wanted to come back to the Carpenny line of her sire, but I wanted black puppies. I also spoke to a few breeders for advice. Eventually whilst at a show I was showing Country in the ring when I noticed a very nice dog in the ring next to us after leaving the ring I checked the catalogue to see who the dog was....amazingly it was a dog I had looked at photos and pedigree of online and liked but thought impossible as he lived in France!  The dogs name is Tam O'shanter of Tintagel Winds with Allenie. He is owned by the mother and daughter partnership of Felicity & Kira Leith Ross on speaking to them it transpired that he was staying in the UK for a while with Kira to be shown, after a bit of discussion they agreed for me to use him at stud on Country.

Then we just had the wait for Country to come in season, thankfully she did before Tammy returned to France!
The pups, 3 girls and 3 boys were born on the 23rd January 2008 and are doing absolutely fine.
